POW MIA rally honors missing, fallen soldiers

The POW MIA Awareness Rally continued today with a tribute ceremony for the fallen and the missing.

Motorcycle riders brought in the flags for fallen service men and women from different branches of the military. They paid tribute to the missing and the fallen with the missing man table. There was even a fly by. Guest speaker Leland Sorensen detailed his experience of having to leave a fallen comrade behind during the Vietnam War. Sorensen was able to go back and find his identification tags in 2014, which led to finding his remains. The organizers say bringing the 82,000 missing service men home is what it is all about.

“There is the our military folks and of course all of us patriots as well saying no man left behind,” said Jennifer K. Bowen with the Pocatello POW MIA Awareness Association. “And so it’s very vitally important that we do bring them all home and we’re all holding hands making that mission possible.”

The rally events continue tonight at Sandy Downs. There are concerts starting at 7 p.m.
