SCAM ALERT: Bannock County warrant for arrest

A scam is going around via email telling people that the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office has a warrant out for their arrest and that they need to send money.

Sheriff Nielsen said that one Pocatello resident has already lost $2,500.

Nielsen also said that this was not the way the Bannock County officers do things. Their warrants aren’t sent through emails and payments should be done in person.

A similar scam occurred in Idaho Falls recently.

If you have suspicions about what you believe may be a scam, call local law enforcement.
