Superintendent Chuck Shackett to retire at end of school year
After almost 20 years at the helm of the Bonneville County School District, Superintendent Chuck Shackett says he will retire at the end of the school year.
Telling Idaho Education News, “It is time for new blood to move the district to even a higher level.”
During his time as superintendent, the district’s enrollment has grown from just over 7,100 students in 2000 to almost 13,000 students this year, making it east Idaho’s largest school district.
Under his leadership, that growth led to six new elementary schools and a new high school and a new middle school that will break ground later this year.
