Undefeated Chukars pitcher called up to Lexington

A day after pitching in the 2018 Pioneer League versus North West League All Star Game, Idaho Falls Chukars ace J.C. Cloney has been called up to the Lexington Legends.

Cloney in 9 had a perfect record, winning all 9 of his starts.

He pitched 56 innings with 50 strikeouts and 10 walks with a stingy 1.94 earned run average.

Four of his 9 appearances he did not give up a run, and had only one start where he gave up 5 runs.

This is the second callup from the Chukars in less than a week.

Cloney joins fellow southpaw, and Pioneer League All Star, Robert Garcia, who also got called up to Lexington less than five days before the All Star Game.

He is the fourth Chukar to be called up, joining Garcia, infielder Manny Olloque and outfielder Kyle Isbel.

A corresponding move has not yet been announced.

The Chukars currently sit at 5 and 6 in the second half of the season, two and a half games back of the Grand Junction Rockies and Ogden Raptors for first place.
