United Way leader plans last campaign
United Way of Southeastern Idaho CEO Margaret Ganyo announced Tuesday that she will step down from the post after this year’s campaign. She has served in the post for almost 15 years.
Board President Roger Gibson said, “Margaret has led this organization well through significant change and growth. She oversaw the merger with the Bingham County United Way, and has managed a 130% increase in the number of people receiving vital human services locally each year through United Way donations.”
During her tenure, United Way of Southeastern Idaho, which serves the seven southeastern counties of Idaho, achieved a 26% growth in annual revenue.
The Board will now open a national search for a replacement.
Ganyo said she has had conversations with a couple of potential employers, but is taking time with her decision. “I’ve felt an increasing sense of urgency to work on these issues full-time. My life has been so enriched by the opportunities I’ve had as CEO of United Way and I’m excited for a new leader to come in and take us to the next level.”
