Rigby fire contained

UPDATE 9/22/2018 4:43 p.m.: Central Fire District Chief Carl Anderson confirms that the fire is contained and firefighters are mopping up hot spots.

All roads are now open and residents are allowed to return home.

Because firefighters are still working in the area, officials urge extreme caution if anyone decides to go back into the area.

UPDATE 9/22/18 2:25 p.m.: An evacuation center has been set up at the Rigby South Stake Center at 106 N 3800 E.

ORIGINAL: The Central Fire District is evacuating all homes on 300 North between 4000 East and 4100 East in Rigby.

Sage Grove Assisted Living is also being evacuated.

Firefighters are responding to a fire in that area. Central Fire said multiple structures are being threatened and have now asked residents in that area to evacuate immediately.

State Highway 48 between 3900 E and 4100 E is also closed to allow for the evacuations.

A school bus is helping to pick people up from inside the evacuation area and help get them out.

Emergency crews are asking that drivers avoid that area.
