Lara Hill named Idaho Falls school board trustee

The Idaho Falls School Board has appointed Lara Hill to fill Lisa Burtenshaw’s Zone 3 position on the board. Burtenshaw announced her plan to resign from the board earlier this month.

An Idaho Falls High School graduate, Hill serves as chair of the D91 Education Foundation and Edgemont Elementary PTO.

“I am extremely passionate about education and the role parents and the community play in our children’s educational future,” Hill said. “My family is rooted in the district and this community. I, my siblings, my husband and his siblings, as well as many extended family members, are all products of District 91 and we are committed to the district’s vision and mission.”

“One of the things we really appreciated about Lara was her passion and her involvement in our schools and in our community,” said Board Chair Deidre Warden.

Hill will be sworn into the new post on September 26, during the board’s next scheduled meeting. The Zone 3 position will be up for election in November 2019.
