Cut Internet and fiber cable affecting schools, homes and businesses

A cut Internet and fiber cable is affecting schools, homes and businesses in Bonneville County.

The fiber line was cut on Lincoln Road near the intersection of Ammon Road Wednesday morning. Construction crews were working on the new roundabout at that intersection when it happened.

CableOne was immediately dispatched to the outage.

Bonneville School District 93 said several of its elementary schools are affected by the outage. They are: Iona, Cloverdale, Ammon, Woodland Hills, Hillview, Bridgewater, and Tiebreaker. The schools are also without phone connections. The district said if parents need to contact their students at these schools, they will need to go to the school.

Most of the other outages are in the area of eastern Idaho Falls and much of Ammon, along with parts of the county.

CableOne repairmen said the repair will likely take most of the day and into the evening.
