One person hurt in I-15 crash

Idaho State Police say one person was hospitalized around 6:14 p.m. Wednesday after a two-vehicle crash in the northbound lane of Interstate 15 at milepost 81, one mile north of Fort Hall.

According to ISP reports, Joseph Scholz, 66, of Shoshoni, Wyoming was northbound in a 2000 Kenworth semi pulling a single flatbed trailer. Ashlie Ray, 22, of Pocatello was driving a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which struck the semi from behind.

The Jeep came to rest on the left shoulder and the Kenworth stopped off the right shoulder of the interstate.

Ray was transported to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello by ground ambulance.
