Crews responding to fire near Heise

UPDATE: 9-30 11 A.M.

The Central Fire District reports firefighters have finished containment lines around the 6.8 acre fire. Crews are mopping up hot spots today and full containment is expected by 8 p.m. Sunday.

UPDATE 10:30 P.M.: Central Fire District received a call about 7:57 P.M. on Saturday night about a fire near Heise near the Jefferson County and Madison County border.

Central Fire, Madison Fire, Rigby Fire and Ririe Fire all responded to the call.

The fire was about 3 acres in a grassy area.

No one was hurt.

No structures or livestock were threatened.

Fire crews had the fire under control quickly.

A cause is still being investigated.

The fire is above the crest creek area.
