Weather helps contain Roosevelt fire

The Roosevelt fire near Bondurant, Wyoming is estimated at 60 percent contained Monday. The fire, started by an untended warming fire on September 15, has now grown to 61,448 acres.

Containment is expected to increase quickly, as rain is forecast for Tuesday through Thursday. Some firefighters and fire equipment are being demobilized from the fire. A local Type 3 Incident Management Tem will take command of the fire Thursday morning, with operations based in Pinedale.

There are currently 1,109 personnel assigned to the fire.

Highway 189/191 is fully open through the fire area with reduced speed limits and lane restrictions.
