Magistrate Commission considering Bingham County nominees

Fifteen lawyers are being considered to replace Ryan W. Boyer as a Bingham County Magistrate Judge.

The Seventh Judicial District Magistrates Commission will meet in Bingham County November 16 at 10 a.m. to make their selection.

The applicants include:

Bannock County Magistrate Judge Scott E. Axline of Pocatello Canyon County Public Defender Marc J. Bybee of Caldwell Bingham County Prosecutor Cleve Colson of Blackfoot Bonner County Public Defender Luke Hagelberg of Sandpoint Bannock County Public Defender Tawnya Haines of Pocatello Ada County Prosecutor David Hunt of Boise Bingham County Public Defender Manuel Murdoch of Blackfoot Canyon County Deputy Prosecutor Justin Paskett of Caldwell Bonneville County Conflict Counsel and Federal CJA Attorney Neal Randall of Idaho Falls Canyon County Public Defender Randy W. Smith of Caldwell Shoshone Bannock Tribes Trial Judge Nicholas Staley Blackfoot private attorney Scott D. Stufflebeam Pocatello law firm partner Brendon Taylor Idaho Falls City Prosecutor Jeffrey Thomason of Idaho Falls Ada County Deputy Public Defender Joshua Wickard of Boise

Judge Boyer will retire January 31, 2019. He has served as a magistrate judge since February 1, 1999.
