Pedestrian finds meth on highway off-ramp

Rexburg Police are investigating an unusual lost and found case.

Last Friday, around 12:45 p.m., a man said he lost his glasses and was walking along the north ramp of the Milepost 333 exit from US 20 looking for them.

What he found instead was a box of what appeared to be Dots Candy, wrapped in black electrical tape.

He picked up the box and walked to the Maverik convenience store where he opened it up. Inside, he found packages filled with white, powdery material. That is when the man called police.

Rexburg Police Captain Randy Lewis said the box contained 30 grams of individually wrapped bags of methamphetamine.

There are no suspects yet, but police welcome anyone who might like to claim ownership.
