Idaho Falls Zoo season extended

The Idaho Falls Zoo has extended its 2018 season by a week.

The zoo will be open daily through Sunday October 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Zoo personnel say fall is a good time to visit, since some animals become more active in cooler temperatures. However, some tropical birds and reptiles are being moved to winter quarters inside the zoo and will not be available for public viewing.

The Boo at the Zoo fundraiser will be held October 25, 26, and 27 and Zoo Lights is scheduled October 29 and 30. Tickets are available at the zoo gift shop or at Broulim’s in Idaho Falls and Shelley.

Educational programs will be offered after the zoo has closed for the season, including toddler classes, winter and spring break mini-camps for kids. The outreach program “Zoomobiles”, where staff members bring animals to the classroom, is also available through the winter.
