KIDK surprises South Lemhi District with supplies

Do you remember all those school supplies you donated at the Eastern Idaho State Fair? Thursday was delivery day and it was a big surprise.

KIDK Eyewitness News 3 chose the South Lemhi School District #292. It has a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school in Leadore and a K-through-6th elementary in Tendoy.

When KIDK Eyewitness News 3 pulled up to the Leadore school, the students filed out of the building to help with all the goods. They even held an impromptu assembly to show their thanks. The teachers and the superintendent are so grateful for your donations.

“You know, we have so many kids that are from large families with multiple brothers and sisters. Trying to find supplies for all of them, you know, we live miles from anywhere to get to there to buy the supplies. It means that everybody gets to have a notebook. Everybody gets to have a new box of crayons. You know, sometimes it’s the little things that just makes their day so that they’re willing and eager and ready to learn,” said Melody Kauer, a fifth and sixth grade teacher.

“What you’ve brought will actually set us up for probably several years honestly. But it’s always a need. You know we’re in an area that’s a little more deprived than others and uh, you’re making me emotional right now. We are very privileged to receive this kind of charity or service,” said Kevin Ramsey, Superintendent of the South Lemhi School District No.292.

The entire school was so excited, they even had a message.

“Thank you Eastern Idaho!” yelled the entire student body during the assembly held in the gymnasium.
