New Lions Club chapter forming in Idaho Falls

A new Lions Clubs International chapter is forming again in Idaho Falls and is inviting the community to take a closer look at what they will be doing.

About two years ago, the previous members of the Idaho Falls club aged out and gave up their charter. With the help of the Rigby branch, the club is in the process of beginning and to recruit new members.

The club requires about 20 or more members to start.

“Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest volunteer service organization with over 1.4 million members in over 220 different countries and we do volunteer work everywhere,” said Jerry Mastel, the Idaho Falls team lead for Lions Clubs International.

In the past week, the Lions Clubs International Idaho Falls chapter has been holding informational meetings at Smitty’s Restaurant. Mastel says that they plan on having more next week. For more information on when the next meeting will happen, stay up to date with the Rigby Lions Clubs Facebook page.
