Idaho State Police lending a helping hand during holiday season

Idaho State Police troopers and office staff are starting their annual “10 Counties of Christmas” this weekend.

ISP wants to lend a helping hand during the Christmas season. The focus is to provide donated coats and a holiday turkey dinner.

Troopers will be at the car dealerships and the Broulim’s grocery stores in their communities for the coat and food drives starting Oct. 27 and going until December.

“We get to interact with people, do something that can help communities and families,” said Sgt. Chris Elverud, of ISP. “Give back to the areas, instead of writing tickets and being that kind of enforcement guy. We’re now providing a service that benefits the communities and the people.”
