Idaho Falls Family Receives ‘Swift’ donation

Taylor Swift has donated $15,500 to a GoFundMe account of a fan whose family is struggling with medical bills.

Sadie Bartell’s mother, Lauriann, has been in a coma for three years, and the family is worried about losing their Idaho Falls, home because of mounting medical bills. The 19-year-old took to <a href="https://” target=”_blank”>social media to share that her mother became ill two days before she went to see Swift in a concert.

“I always loved her music, because it always resonated with me and I always related to it and so it’s nice to turn to her word to feel understood.”

“We thought everything was fine and then on a Wednesday morning she woke me up at five in the morning she woke me up and said something was wrong,” said Lauriann’s husband Mike of 28 years.

“It changed everything, I stopped working to be with her, she needs 24 hours around the clock daycare, and she can’t be left alone no more than 5 – 10 minutes at a time”.

The 19-year-old communications major turned to social media for help with a link to a GoFundMe page, that got the attention of Swift.

“I hurried and pulled it up, and I just started balling, I started screaming at the top of my lungs, and I ran and hit the ground.”

A $15,500 donation from Taylor, and her cats Meredith and Olivia.

“I would just want to thank her for being the one thing that’s been constant for me all this time.”

The family’s GoFundMe page has now raised more than $28,000.
