Yellowstone visitation up in October

Yellowstone National Park reports 218,076 people visited the park in October. The number of recreational visitors was up 2.9 percent over October of last year, making it the third busiest October on record.

So far this year, the park has hosted 4,078,770 visits. That is down just slightly from the same period last year, but nearly a million people ahead of the number who visited just five years ago.

Record visitor numbers were recorded in October, 2016 when 4,212,782 people toured the park
