Idaho and Wyoming plan inaugural events

Idaho and Wyoming are laying in plans for inauguration ceremonies for new governors in January.

In Idaho:

the official ceremony for Governor Brad and Teresa Little and other state constitutional officers will begin promptly at Noon, January 4 on the south steps of the state Capitol. The event is free and open to the general public.

The 48th Inaugural Procession and Ball will take place Saturday, Jan. 5, in the Capitol. This non-partisan event continues Idaho’s long-standing tradition of honoring the state’s elected officials. The Inaugural Ball was first held in the newly-built Capitol building in 1913.

The Idaho National Guard’s 25th Army Band will provide patriotic music at the Inaugural Ball.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the Grand Processing of elected officers, legislators, and distinguished guests will begin at 8 p.m.

The ball is financed by ticket sales and admission to it is by ticket only. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. They are available online here.

Under Idaho Code, the Adjutant General of Idaho is responsible for the planning and execution of duties pertaining to the inauguration.

In Wyoming:

Governor-elect Mark and Jennie Gordon announced that Dave and Annemarie Picard would serve as co-chairs of the 2019 Wyoming Inauguration Committee.

Inauguration will be held on January 7 in Cheyenne. Elements will include a prayer service, swearing-in ceremony, a public reception, a sponsor reception, and an Inaugural Gala at the Little America Resort and Convention Center.

The event is still in planning stages, but up to date information will be provided online.
