Local foundation receives donation just in time for Christmas

A local foundation got a big donation from an area business Saturday afternoon.

The Eagle Rock Indian Motorcycle Riders Group donated more than $4,000 to the Shannon Wilker Foundation. They not only donated money to the foundation, but also gave away a motorcycle to a lucky winner in honor of Veterans Day. The motorcycle company said they started the riders group and decided to use it to give back to the community. The money for the foundation will go a long way with cancer patients and their families.

“The donation means a lot to me and my foundation,” Shane Wilker, founder of the Shannon Wilker Foundation. “My main reason was to keep my wife’s memory alive, but the other purpose is that all the money goes directly to local cancer patients. And with this money, we’re going to use it to buy Christmas dinner and debit cards for cancer patients and their families for Christmas to help as much as we can.”

More information about the Shannon Wilker Foundation can be found on its website.
