Holiday travel expected to soar during Thanksgiving
A record number of people will hit the road over the Thanksgiving holiday.
About 54.3 million people will travel 50 miles or more from Wednesday to Sunday- -almost 5 percent more compared to last years, according to AAA. In Idaho, 287,000 Idahoans will be traveling, which is also a 3 percent jump from last year.
The Thanksgiving holiday period is from Wednesday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 25.
AAA also reports that the national average for unleaded fuels has fallen 24 cents to $2.62 a gallon.
Local Residents like Bae Valencia won’t traveling by air because of the prices but will take full advantage of the falling gas prices.
“Gas supreme Y’all, it’s $3.23 right now and $2.99 for unleaded. I’ll be back on Sunday most likely and this gas better be the same!”
Unleaded gasoline in Idaho has fallen 37 cents a gallon during the month of November.

The driving factor behind the price drop is the retreat in crude oil which is trading under $57 a barrel, down $20 compared to last month. For every $1 drop in crude oil costs, pump prices typically retreat two- cents or more per gallon.
