Pocatello man killed in rollover crash
Idaho State Police report a 46-year-old Pocatello man was killed in a single vehicle fatality crash Wednesday around 12:47 a.m. on Interstate 84 at milepost 190 south of Hazelton.
ISP reports Christopher Averett was driving a 1996 Honda Accord eastbound on I-84 when he lost control of the vehicle. It then went into the median and rolled.
Averett was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Officials say he was the only occupant in the vehicle.
Next of kin has been notified.
The eastbound lanes were blocked for approximately three hours.
Idaho State Police was assisted by the Idaho Transportation Department and Jerome County Sheriff’s Office.
