Community shops small on Saturday

While Black Friday is big for large retail stores, Saturday was all about small businesses and shopping local.

Businesses in downtown Idaho Falls participated in Small Business Saturday. Local stores had discounts and encouraged the community to shop local. They say it is important for the community to support local businesses.

“By supporting small businesses, you are supporting the local business owners who work to provide personal customer care,” said Annette Black, owner of Lemon Meringue in Idaho Falls. “And also, we give back to our local Idaho Falls economy.”

Downtown Idaho Falls businesses are hosting a Christmas Open House Sunday, Dec. 2. The Snake Bite restaurant will host a special brunch and local businesses will have even more great deals.
