ISU to launch Bengal Meal Share Program Tuesday

Idaho State University Office of Student Life and ISU Chartwells is unveiling the Bengal Meal Share Program that supports students who are experiencing food insecurity on Tuesday, #GivingTuesday.

ISU Credit Union has donated $1,500 to provide the initial available meals.

Through this program, students are allowed to donate up to 10 meals per academic year from their Chartwells meal plan to students in need. This helps ensure that their fellow Bengal classmates have access to nutritious meals each day so they can stay focused on their studies and success.

Students who have a dining plan can donate meals by following a few easy steps by:

— Contacting the Office of Student Life at (208) 282-2794, visit ISU Chartwells site at https://dineoncampus.com/isu or visit https://isu.edu/mealshare.

— Filling out the donation form and enter the number of meals they want to donate.

— Turn in the donation form at the Office of Student Life in the Pond Student Union, Room 204, or click submit if using the Chartwells site.

Donated meals will be carried over each semester to ensure access to meals for all students throughout the academic year.

Anyone without a meal plan who wants to contribute can donate at http://my.isu.edu/give.

ISU students experiencing food insecurity can request assistance through the Bengal Meal Share program by filling out a short form from the Student Life Office. Staff will contact them to discuss support, eligibility and the process for obtaining meal assistance. Students who have an immediate need can call (208) 282-2794 or stop by the Office of Student Life. Otherwise, requests will be responded to within 48 hours.

For questions or to discuss the Bengal Meal Share Program, please contact Kris Clarkson in the Office of Student Life via email at clarkri3@isu.edu or phone (208) 282-2794.
