Police investigate man and 5 dogs found dead in home

Teton County, Wyoming Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched for a welfare check on a resident in the Game Creek Subdivision Wednesday.

Officials say the resident had not been seen by neighbors for approximately two weeks.

According to deputies, there had been no movement seen at the house, and there were no fresh tracks in the snow. It was reported the resident also had several dogs.

Deputies on scene determined the circumstances warranted making entry to the home to check the welfare of the resident.

Inside the residence, deputies located the adult male and five dogs deceased.

One dog was discovered alive and was immediately taken to the Spring Creek Animal Hospital for treatment for starvation and dehydration.

The Teton County Coroner’s Office is working to confirm the identity of the decedent and notify next of kin.

Officials say the death does not appear to be criminal in nature.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation for the treatment of the surviving dog can call Spring Creek at (307)-733-1606.
