Small earthquake reported in Star Valley

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded along the Idaho-Wyoming border near Afton, Wyoming about an hour before the Alaska quake at 9:34 a.m. Mountain Time.

There were no immediate reports of any serious damage. Only seven people formally reported feeling it.

The quake was located about 3.6 miles north/northeast of Fairview, 58 miles north/northeast of Jackson, and 72.4 miles northwest of Ammon, Idaho.
