UI commencement set Dec. 8

The University of Idaho will graduate 578 students in fall commencement ceremonies. Finance and Administration Vice President Brian Foisy will be keynote speaker at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 8 in the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center in Moscow.

Students are eligible to receive a combined 587 degrees, including 430 baccalaureate degrees, 125 master’s degrees, 25 doctoral degrees, four law degrees and three specialist degrees.

“We’re very proud of this class of graduating Vandals,” U of I President Chuck Staben said. “Each and every one of them have completed an important journey and accomplished something incredibly valuable by getting to the graduation stage this December. We look forward to seeing the great places their Vandal degree takes them and the success they have in the future.”

The university will award two honorary doctorates and a president’s medallion. They are:

Honorary Doctor of Science:
Dayaldas T. Meshri, owner of Advance Research Chemicals Inc. and founder and president of Global Sindhi Foundation.

Honorary Doctor of Administrative Science:
Maj. Gen. Erik C. Peterson, commander of Division West of the U.S. Army, former director of Army Aviation on the Army staff of the Pentagon.

President’s Medallion:
Kathy Clark, retired educator, coach and administrator with U of I Athletics for more than 25 years.
