2 arrested after home break-in

An Idaho Falls homeowner was surprised to find someone in their spare bedroom early Thursday morning.

Police were called to the 700 block of East Elva at 4:17 a.m. after someone reported they heard a noise in a bedroom and couldn’t get into it.

When police arrived, they found that whoever was inside had left. Along with Bonneville County deputies, officers checked the neighborhood and found a man and a woman with backpacks nearby. The man laid something on the ground.

The homeowner was able to identify items found in the man’s possession as items that had been taken from the house.

Police arrested Delson R. Whatomy, 32, for burglary, possession of a controlled substance, suspected methamphetamines, theft by receiving or possessing stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a parole violation.

Also arrested was Josephine B. Theboy, 26, for accessory to burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
