Pocatello City Council meets to discuss mission, vision and values

The Pocatello City Council gathered in the Paradice Conference room at City Hall Thursday to discuss plans for the future while addressing the importance of what they do every day.

“We spent a lot of time talking about…what we do and why we do, as a city, why we do it,” Mayor Brian Blad said. “The neat thing is everybody contributed, everybody worked really hard.”

And it’s “the passion” of the council that really stood out to Blad today.

“We have an incredible group of leaders in our community right now and to see them all come together and show that passion is amazing,” Blad explained.

Now the council plans to “vet out” both a new mission and value statement.

Once completed, the group will meet again to readdress their vision for Pocatello.

Blad said they don’t know when the statement will be ready, but said it would likely be over the next month or so.
