Get ready for a windy week with scattered snow

Two storm fronts are taking aim at our region. The first front is rather weak and is only sending in some light scattered snow showers for Monday night and Tuesday. The second front is the larger and more powerful system. That second front arrives late Tuesday and all day on Wednesday. The Wednesday system could put down a good few inches in the Snake River Plain. A winter Weather Advisory has been issued for that time period

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

Tonight: Snow showers with light accumulations. Lows in the low 20’s.

Tuesday: Scattered snow showers and flurries. A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high into the upper 20’s. South southwest wind 10-15 mph. Tuesday Night, Snow likely at a 60% chance. Areas of blowing and drifting snow, with a low into the lower 20’s. South wind 15-25 mph.

Wednesday: Snow showers, with blowing and drifting ground snow. Highs into the lower 30’s with winds 15-25 MPH. Chance of precipitation is 60%. 1-2″ of new snowfall possible.

Thursday: Partly cloudy with just a few flurries, a high into the mid 20’s.
