Winter Weather Advisory Tuesday night and Wednesday

A couple of storm systems are passing through the region this week. We’ll start to see a little snow Monday night and Tuesday. A second, stronger system is moving in for Tuesday evening and Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Upper Snake River Plain-Teton Valley, Including the cities of Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Ashton, and Driggs

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM TUESDAY TO 11 AM

MST WEDNESDAY…

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. In addition, areas of poor visibility are expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, with localized amounts up to 7 inches, are expected.

* WHERE…Idaho Falls, Rexburg, St. Anthony, Ashton, and Driggs.

* WHEN…From 11 PM Tuesday to 11 AM MST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will

cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods

of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel

difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited

visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest road

conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Caribou Range-

Including the cities of Montpelier, Soda Springs, Henry, and Bone

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on slippery road

conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday.

In addition, areas of poor visibility are expected. Tree

branches could fall as well. Total snow accumulations of 3 to

5 inches, with localized amounts up to 11 inches, are expected.

* WHERE…Montpelier, Soda Springs, Bone, Border Summit, .

* WHEN…From 11 PM Tuesday to 5 PM MST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Areas of blowing and drifting snow will be

possible.

MST WEDNESDAY…

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on difficult

travel conditions, including during the morning commute on

Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches, with

localized amounts up to 11 inches, are expected.

* WHERE…Island Park, Targhee Pass, Victor, and Pine Creek Pass.

* WHEN…From 11 PM Tuesday to 5 PM MST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will

cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.
