Man charged with 10 counts of child exploitation

UPDATE 12/12/18 2:15 p.m.: The following update has been released by the Chubbuck Police Department.

“In regards to the arrest of Shawn Young on 12-11-18 the correct charge on the warrant that was issued for his arrest was 10 counts of child exploitation.

The information release that was sent out yesterday incorrectly stated that the charge was child enticement. We apologize for the incorrect code section that was cited on the original release.”

Chubbuck Police took a 44-year-old Chubbuck resident into custody in relation to an outstanding warrant for his arrest charging him with 10 counts of child enticement Tuesday around 1:20 a.m.

Police say Shawn Young was taken into custody without incident.

The police investigation into this matter began in April of 2018 with the assistance of the local FBI office in Pocatello. This investigation resulted in an arrest warrant being issued on December 10.

According to police, the members of the Chubbuck Police Department along with the FBI put a significant amount of work into this case culminating with Young’s arrest.
