INL gets ready for Christmas for Families donations

The Idaho National Laboratory is donating time, money and food to make Christmas a little brighter for eastern Idaho families.

Employees adopted 60 families from across eastern Idaho this year.

Volunteers assembled the Christmas boxes on Friday at the United Steelworkers Union Hall in Idaho Falls.

The site has sponsored a Christmas for Families program for the past 30 years.

“My favorite part is hearing the stories come back from my co-workers who tell me what a wonderful experience this has been and then the stories I get from the families that we support,” said Pamela Stone, the coordinator for Christmas for Families. “It’s a good feeling to know we are helping.”

Local stores also participated by donating and discounting goods and services.

Volunteers will spend Saturday morning delivering the boxes to the families.
