Food Basket accepts Bank of Commerce donation

The Community Food Basket Idaho Falls (formerly the Idaho Falls Food Bank) accepted a $3,500 check from the Bank of Commerce Tuesday.

The bank plans a second donation of $5,000 to Eastern Idaho Public Health (EIPH) later this week.

The Food Basket was organized in 1980 by several churches to meet the emergency needs of people facing food insecurity. It provides assistance now to over 1,000 families ever month.

EIPH will use the donation to benefit its Adult Immunization Program and Mammogram Voucher Program.

In total, the locally owned Bank of Commerce said it would make over $111,000 in cash donations to Eastern Idaho Food Banks over the past 11 years.
