Power restored in the Ammon area

Update 12/26/ 2018 – 11:05 a.m. – Power has been restored as of 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Rocky Mountain Power spokesman said the problem was a loss of transmission but didn’t expound on what caused that.

Rocky Mountain Power is experiencing a power outage in the Ammon area.

According to their power outage map on their website, some 17,000 customers between Ammon and Ucon are without power Wednesday morning.

The outage includes two substations, Sandcreek and Ammon.

A spokesman says the cause is unknown at this time.

The outage began around 8:56 a.m. and they’re trying to restore the power by 11:30 a.m.
