Scattered snow and gusty winds this weekend

A cold front will sweep in on Sunday with snow showers and gusty winds. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for this weekend for the mountains. We’ll look for 1-2″ of possible new snow for the Snake River Plain. 4-7″ possible for Island Park, Teton County Idaho and Western Wyoming communities. Very cold weather behind this weekend storm with highs into the mid teens.

Saturday: A few snow showers with a cloudy sky. Highs into the mid to lower 20’s. South southwest wind around 10 mph.

Sunday: Snow likely, highs into the upper 20’s. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Gusty winds with blowing and drifting snow possible as well.

Monday and Tuesday: Sunny and cold with highs around 15°.
