Gas prices continue to plunge
Idaho gas prices dropped another 5.6 cents per gallon over the past week, according to the consumer watchdog GasBuddy.com.
The average price of $2.59 per gallon, Sunday, was based on a survey of 802 Idaho stations.
The national average price dropped over 6 cents per gallon to an average price of $2.25 per gallon.
“The plunge has seen sub-$2 gas prices show up at over a third of all gas stations in the country while eleven states have seen average prices dip under the $2 level,” said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.
DeHaan says it is difficult to predict how long the “plunge” will last. “It’s complicated, but possible summer gas prices won’t be anywhere near this low, but all the specifics on what motorists can expect in 2019 will be revealed Wednesday as GasBuddy releases its 2019 Fuel Price Outlook.”
