Very cold air and windy conditions persist behind our latest weekend storm. We expect temperatures overnight to be well below zero. With winds also in the forecast, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning.
WIND CHILL WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM
* WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills expected. The dangerously
cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes
to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 15 below zero
to 30 below zero.
* WHERE…Mud Lake, Rexburg, Rigby, Ririe, Idaho Falls, Ashton,
Island Park, Dubois, Small, Arco, Mackay, Chilly and other
locations in the Lost River, Birch Creek, and Teton River
* WHEN…From 6 PM this evening to 9 AM MST Tuesday.
A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and
the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frost
bite can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if
precautions are not taken.
