Hay truck strikes pedestrian

A juvenile was hospitalized at around 4:30 p.m. Monday after being struck by a hay truck while crossing Main Street in Wendell.

Idaho State Police said the juvenile was walking southbound and attempted to cross Main Street at the crosswalk. Trevor Eldredge,26, of St. Anthony was southbound on Idaho Street in a 1995 Peterbilt tractor pulling triple hay trailers. Eldredge was making a right turn onto Main Street when he struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The juvenile’s condition was not known.

The intersection was blocked for about two hours.

The incident is under investigation by ISP and assisted by the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho Transportation Department.
