Man dies after being buried in avalanche
One man is dead after he was buried alive in an avalanche Wednesday afternoon (01/09/2019).
The Teton County Sheriff’s Office says he was riding snow machines with two other friends on Mt. Leidy near Togwotee Pass. Around 3:30 in the afternoon, an avalanche was triggered which trapped the rider. His friends were able to uncover him, but he was unconscious. CPR was attempted, but he could not be revived. Authorities pronounced his death around 4:30 p.m.
His name has not yet been released.
