Jackson to host federal employee potluck lunch

In appreciation of the large segment of its population who are federal employees or federal contract workers, the Town of Jackson will host a Potluck Lunch Wednesday at Town Hall. It’s open to all those workers and their families.

Town officials said they wanted to express their gratitude to those workers for the commitment and service they provide.

In a news release, Jackson officials pointed out:

“While the effects are felt nationwide, our region is especially impacted. We recognize that many
talented people in our community dedicate their professional lives to protecting, promoting,
managing, and preserving our public lands and
resources, and that the current shutdown may be
creating hardship for these individuals and their families. These men and women are valued
members of our community, and we would like to offer one gesture of appreciation that may
help those impacted.”

The lunch will be held in the Town Council Chambers at Town Hall, 150 East Pearl Avenue, between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
