An Idaho Falls Police officer conducted a traffic stop Friday around 12:50 a.m. after observing the vehicle did not have proper tire coverings.

The driver was identified as Jamaal Porter, 39, of Shelley who had an outstanding Bonneville County Warrant for Probation Violation Felony.

After securing permission from the driver, officers performed a search of the vehicle and found 6.8 grams of methamphetamine and a set of scales.

Porter was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia-use or possession with intent to use and the warrant for probation violation felony.

He was transported to the Bonneville County Jail.
