Rain and Snow this weekend

This weekend we’ll see scattered rain and snow showers along with some gusty winds by Sunday and Monday. There is also the risk of some freezing rain in the Snake River Plain. With this weather out of the west, we’ll see warmer temperatures on Saturday, leading to mostly rain showers for the valleys and the Snake River Plain. With a cold front on Sunday and dropping overnight temperatures, we’ll see more scattered snow showers on Sunday and Monday.

Saturday: Rain and snow likely, with a high into the upper 30’s and lower 40’s. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Saturday night, look for more rain and snow showers. With low’s only around 35° for the Snake River Plain. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Sunday: Scattered snow and rain showers with highs into the mid to upper 30’s. South southwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible for Idaho Falls. Rain for Pocatello and 3 to 7 inches possible for Island Park.

Monday: Scattered snow showers with highs into the lower 30’s. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible for the upper Snake River Plain.

Tuesday: Snow showers with a high into the upper 20’s. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
