Bingham County residents feeling the affects of melting snow

Roads and homes are starting to flood in eastern Idaho but more so in Bingham County.

The emergency management team was in Bingham county last night delivering sandbags to people who were having issues with the snow melt.

For some people, water was running a little too close to their homes.

a few of Bingham County residents saw flooding in their pump houses.

There is a lot of flooding across the region, and with the desert area seeing a lot of snow melt, that water is starting to hit the town.

Bingham County Sheriff, Craig Rowland said, “If you see water over the road you need to slow down and go through it slowly. It’s not very deep but it can cause your tires to lose traction.” If you are dealing with large amounts of water near your home, sandbags are available at Moreland Park and at the Shelley Fire Station. If you need to get some sandbags they are available free of charge at these two locations. If you have a plugged culvert that runs under a road, contact dispatch at 208-785-4440. They will send someone to unplug it.
