Madison County Sheriff asking for help searching for suspect in burglary

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglarly that happened in Rexburg on the weekend of January 26th and 27th.

It happened at a business located at 5292 S. 400 W.

About 12,000 to 14,000 dollars worth of welding and farm equipment was stolen.

According to a spokesman with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Isaac Payne, the suspects backed a vehicle up to the door, ripped it open and grabbed a number of items before taking off.

There is no make or model of what vehicle was used or surveillance video.

Payne says there appears to be two people involved judging by the footprints.

There are no specific suspects yet, but detectives are actively working on the case.

The owner, Robert Smith, is offering a 1,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction.
