FBI investigates suspicious letter at Senator Risch’s office
Police are at the Omni Building in Pocatello after reports of an issue at Senator Jim Risch’s office.
Staff members noticed a suspicious letter and called police Wednesday morning.
The HAZMAT team was called and his office was put on lockdown.
At this time, preliminary testing has indicated there is no threat to public safety in connection with this mailing.
The FBI will take it to their lab to double check.
There are reports of two other letters in the state.
The FBI encourages the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
