State controller talks about new transparency website to roll out

Many republican lawmakers and leaders from across the state took part in the 47th annual Lincoln Day banquet.

State controller and Preston native Brandon Woolf made his way to eastern Idaho for the festivities and was asked to serve as the master of ceremonies.

He shared with Local News 8 and KIDK Eyewitness News 3 some changes that will come out in a few weeks to provide better government transparency.

“Transparency. I think that is one of the biggest things that helps citizens is gain trust in government again,” Said Woolf. “In the next couple of weeks we’re going to roll out a brand new website with more data and more information so it’ll be more helpful for media, but for citizens to be able to pull in more and more data that’s their money, and they have the right to know how it’s being spent.”
