One person dead in Island Park accident

UPDATE 2/11/19 12:26 P.M.: Idaho State Police investigated a deadly crash around 8:00 Sunday night heading east on U.S. Highway 20 at mile post 383 in Island Park.

27-year-old Adam Figueroa of Island Park was driving a 2005 Polaris snowmobile exiting a parking lot.

27-year-old Jacob Logan of Vermont was driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy west on Highway 20 near milepost 383.

Figueroa was leaving the parking lot and hit by the Legacy.

Figueroa was not wearing a helmet and died of his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Logan was wearing a seatbelt and not taken to a hospital.

The westbound lanes were blocked for about two hours and the eastbound lanes about three hours and 45 minutes.

Idaho State Police was assisted by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Department, Fremont County EMS, and Fremont County Fire Department.

Next of kin has been notified.

UPDATE 2/10/19 10:12 P.M.: Idaho State Police has reopened the westbound lanes on Highway 20.

ORIGINAL STORY: Idaho State Police is currently investigating a crash blocking the eastbound lanes on Highway 20 at milepost 383, south of Island Park.

Both the eastbound and westbound lanes are blocked.
