Man charged with first-degree murder waives right to preliminary hearing
The man accused of murdering Preston resident Willie Lovin Jr. waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
35-year-old Marlin McQueen of Preston has been charged with first-degree murder in the January 26 killing that occurred at Lovin’s home.
Court documents describe a very gruesome murder scene and say Lovin was stabbed twice in the back. His body was found in the bathroom by a friend.
Those court records also indicate that after his initial arrest, McQueen confessed to the murder, although he pled not guilty when he was arraigned.
Friends of Willie Lovin tell us the suspect was a homeless man that Lovin was trying to help.
McQueen will be back in court later this month. He is being held without bond.
